On 18th August , 2012, the black cow at the Ghoshala gave birth to a lovely , healthy male calf. But unfortunately ,the mother did not survive due to delivery complications in spite of all efforts put in by the staff and veterinary doctors. The calf is now fed with 2 litres of milk with a feeding bottle along with some tonics prescribed by the vet. It is now the darling of everyone visiting the temple.

August 27 , 2012.

Ayush Homams are being regularly performed at the temple of Sri Viswaroopa Panchamukha Anjaneyaswami at Tiruvallur. On 27-08-2012, we were at the temple to attend an Ayush Homam. Prior to the commencement of the Homam , devotees were reciting the Sahasranamas of Sri Anjaneyaswami standing before the Moolavar.

Suddenly a large number of crows started cawing loudly. When the devotees chanting the Sahasranamams looked up to see what is happening, a small monkey was sighted. There is no population of monkeys at Tiruvallur. But periodically few monkeys use to visit the shrine. We have even seen them sitting in praying posture and climb to the top of the gopuram. We even used to wonder whether Lord Hanuman is sending them to supervise the work in progress !!!

This monkey did an unbelievable act. You can see from the picture attached a small hole over the head of Swami in the centre of the Garbhagriham ceiling. A cable goes into this hole to the top of the gopuram to energize the lightening arrester. This monkey grabbed the cable , climbed up holding the cable and vanished into the inside of the gopuram through the small hole !!!

The 85th Thirunakshathiram of Gurudev “ Mantra Murthy Dasan “ S.Venkatesa Bhattachariar Swamigal , Founder Trustee of Sri Viswaroopa Panchamukha Anjaneyaswami Foundation was celebrated today at the temple of Sri Viswaroopa Panchamukha Anjaneyaswami at Tiruvallur,Chennai, India.

Members of the GUINDY VEDHAVITH SABHA KUZHUVINAR recited Thiruvoimozhi , Kanninin Siruthombhu and Ramanujar Nootrandhadhi , in two sessions , in the morning and evening. Eleven members participated in the paraayanam. Uthsavar abhishekam was performed in the morning. Special prayers were offered to Gurudev. In the afternoon, annadhanam was arranged .

Dr(Ms)P.Lakshmi, Trustee and disciple of Gurudev ,was present.

Sri Ganapathy Homam

Sri Ganapathy Homam on Maha Sangada Hara Chathurthi Day on 5th day of August,2012 was performed in a grand manner at the temple of Kaaria Siddhi Vinayagar. A team of eight shastrigal led by Sri Raghava Shastry of Tiruvallur commenced the Homam at 8.30 a.m. Sri Ganapathy Moola Manthram was chanted 1008 times by the eight priests.  The attending devotees also chanted the Moola manthram and hence the number of chantings far exceeded the 8000 mark aimed by the performing priests.

Kozhukattai (கொழுக்கட்டை), Lotus/ Arali (அரளி ) with honey, Nel pori (நெல்பொரி ), சர்க்கரை பொங்கல் ,நாட்டுசர்க்கரை , வெண் கடுகு ,Copra and Samithu(சமித்து) were used as the eight ingrediants offered to Lord Ganesha.

At about 12.30 p.m. , an elaborate Maha Abhishekam to Kaaria Siddhi Vinayagar commencedwith milk,curd,sandal,turmeric,rose water, tender coconut water,honey,veebhoothi, kadhambhapodi (fragrant powder) and fruits(பஞ்சாமிர்தம் ) .

At 1.00 p.m. POORNAHUTHI ( பூர்ணாஹுதி ) was performed.

All the offerings were totally consumed by the Homa Agni .The fact that Lord Gajamughan was entirely pleased with the Homam was conveyed by the pattern left by the basmam ( ashes ) inside the Homa Gundam. The pattern was that of an elephant. Everybody was thrilled by  this sight !!

In the morning an ahhishekam was performed to ARULMIGHU ASHTABUJA VISHNU DURGAI
(அருள்மிகு அஷ்டபுஜ விஷ்ணு துர்க்கை). While the Ganapathy Homam was being performed , another group of devotees chanted Sri Lalitha Saharanama Sthothram followed by a Sahasranama Archanai at the adjoining Durgai Sannadhi. The whole area was filled with a divine aura.

Prior to Poornaahuthi, Sri Raghava Shastrigal explained the sanctity of the Homam and the benefits that will accrue to the participants. Hundreds of devotees participated In the Maha Homam by paying the Sangalpa Kattanam.

Kozhukattai, Sarkkarai Pangal, Venn Pongal, Sundal , Medhu vadai, Puliyodharai and Suddha Annam were offered as neivedhyam to the deities and this prasadham was distributed to the devotees attending the Homam.

Sri.N.Radhakrishnan,Chairman,Board of Trustees,Sri Viswaroopa Panchamukha Anjaneyaswami Foundation and Sri.C.K.Narayanan attended the function and received the blessings of Sri Kaaria Siddhi Vinayagar.

Sangada Hara Chathurthi

The Sangada Hara Chathurthi falling in the waning phase of the moon ( தேய் பிறை ) in the month Aadi ( ஆடி ) is celeberated as MAHA SANGADA HARA CHATHURTHI. This is a very important festival.

The planet Mars ( செவ்வாய் ) is endowed with the powers of granting lands and houses, protecting haemoglobin , ensuring good and proper matching of husband and wife etc., The planet with such vital connection with human life was recognised as a planet by Lord Vinayaga on this day.On this day Mars attained the status of a planet. ( கிரக பதவி )  and this status was granted by Lord Vinayaka.

Praying Lord Vinayaka on this day ensures the following benefits.

1.Improving the intellect of children , ensuring success in education by removing any obstacles.
2.As Lord Vinayaka is responsible for creating and removing obstacles, he will remove the obstacles in education, business, monetary flow and also remove health problems.
3.Lord Vinayaka will enhance the Bakthi Gnanam ( பக்தி ஞானம் ) in the minds of His devotees,
